Located at a distance of 24 kilometres from Nainital and about around 4 kilometres from Bhim-Tal is the immensely beautiful and charming Naukuchiatal. Literally translating into nine-cornered lake, this majestic place located at an altitude of 1,220 meters above sea level in the Nainital district of Indian state of Uttarakhand, and surrounded by dense forests on all sides is a heaven on earth for nature lovers.

The lake with an overall length of 1 kilometre and depth of 40 meters is a very important tourist destination. This mystical lake which is constantly fed by underwater springs is one of the deepest lakes in the Greater Nainital area.
