About Kufri

Kufri is one of the most beautiful and well-known hill stations of India, which is located just 16 kms away from another renowned tourist destination Shimla. Located in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, this amazingly beautiful hill station was founded by the British in 1819.

Deriving its name from ‘Kufr’ which translates into lake, this stunning tourist destination is best known for its ski slopes is the venue for National Snow Statue Competition which is held every year in January.

Kufri hosts the Annual Winter Sports Festival held in February. Conducted by the travel and tourism department of the Himachal Pradesh government, this even draws adventure lovers from far and wide. This park home to hundreds of endangered bird species also hosts a variety of animals like leopards, black bears, musk deer, etc.
